Lemonade Restaurant Provides Refreshing And Healthy Meal Options (Bangstyle - Lemonade Diet)

Posted by javanuddin on Tuesday, July 24, 2012

Los Angeles is somewhat of a mecca for healthy and delicious food options. However, as someone who admittedly views breakfast burritos as its separate food group, I can be a hard sell when it comes to getting me to choose healthy food options over my beloved greasy diet staples. As a USC student, we have a seemingly endless supply of delicious meal options from Carls Jr., to California Pizza Kitchen, to Wahoo's Fish Tacos, to Panda Express. I had gotten into the habit of settling for an admittedly unhealthy diet on a daily basis when Lemonade came into the picture and changed everything.

Lemonade Diet

Lemonade is a self proclaimed "modern cafeteria serving Southern California comfort food." Lemonade is unlike any dining experience I have ever encountered before. The menu items are colorful and imaginative and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Lemonade features a number of different menu options. One option is to get "portions." Lemonade portions are cold dishes that consist of a variety of vegetables, noodles, lentils, fruits, and sometimes meats such as chicken or ahi tuna. My favorite recent portion dishes include orecchiette with tomato, perlini mozzarella and red pepper, spaghetti squash with farro and pomegranate vinaigrette, Watermelon radish with ahi tuna, snap peas, black sesame and ginger, Israeli couscous with wild mushrooms, parmesan and lemon truffle, and finally, cauliower with golden raisins, almonds and curry. I have never had a bad experience with the employees, who are friendly and are willing to oblige your sample requests. I like to order multiple portions and stockpile them in my refrigerator. They come packaged in a convenient to-go box, and are great to eat at any time of the day. I sincerely could live solely off of Lemonade portions.

Lemonade also has a variety of Land & Sea item options such as citrus poached salmon let and the buttermilk chicken breast. All of these options are delicious and complement the portions very well. I highly recommend the salmon. In addition to these options, Lemonade also features a number of delicious sandwiches, braises, and salads. There are also a wide range of delicious homemade dessert options. And of course, Lemonade is famous for its namesake lemonade products, which come in a range of delicious flavors. I personally recommend the blueberry mint lemonade. It is delicious and you simply cannot go wrong with it. Lemonade Diet

Aside from the USC campus location, Lemonade also has various other locations in the Southern California area. Check out the "Locations" page on the Lemonade website to find a location near you!

Gone were the days when the biscuits were eaten only as a purpose of snacks only and not much importance were given to their look and feel. But now days, market is full of biscuits in different shapes and flavors. These flavored biscuits have their own place and demand in the market. Generally an artificial flavor is added to flavored biscuits but many manufactures bake these biscuits in such a way that they add nothing like sugar, salt or any kind of artificial flavor. These are manufactured from health point of view. Many people would not like these as they would not taste as much as others do but if they will look the health benefits of these kinds of biscuits then no doubt they would purchase these. So next time when you go outside to purchase biscuits for you or specially flavored biscuits then see the labels on them and carefully buy as they do come in many options.

When we are talking of tasty foods then why not give a little thought to healthier juices also? These juices are extracted from fruits and either eaten fresh or processed and packaged by their manufactures for longer use. Some of the commonly used fruits for this purpose are litchi, strawberry, orange, mosambi, pineapple etc. They can be made at home also for which their machine would be required. For example, Mosambi Juice machine is a compact home device that can be bought and used at home for extracting juice of mosambi. These machines separate the pulp from the seeds inside. Since the seeds of mosambi are very bitter in taste so these machines help in removing the bitterness of juice by removing the seeds. The fruits are rich source of vitamins, minerals, roughage and help in fighting diseases also. One can have juice after and before exercising too. A glass full of juice can make you healthier and refreshed. In fact we should involve this habit in our daily routine to have a glass full of juice and if not juice then direct fruit can be eaten.

Though we read about healthy juices, biscuits above but sometimes it happens that we want to eat something which is cool and different. Yes you would have guessed right, we are talking about ice creams and kulfis which are eaten not only during summers but winters as well. One can make ice cream candy out of ice-cream or buy it from the market. In market these are available in Ice Cream Candy Box. These ice cream candy boxes have candies stored at low temperature or generally frozen. The same way kulfis can be made at home by using Plastic Kulfi Moulds. For this all the ingredients used for kulfis are mixed together and pour in Plastic Kulfi Moulds which are then stored in a freezer.

Cabbage Soup Recipe - Tasty, Healthy, Cheap

Posted by javanuddin

Cabbage soup recipe choices are tasty additions to any table. And cabbage is a super food packed with nutrition that's good for anybody, dieting or not. If you're looking for a way to stretch your food budget, look no further.

Tasty

Cabbage soup has a reputation as a somewhat smelly, stinky, bland sort of concoction. But it isn't necessarily any of those. The taste of soup largely depends on the ingredients including spices, so good soup is dependent on the materials you use.

Try this to get started.

Cabbage Soup Quick and Easy

1 large head of cabbage

1 large bunch celery

2 bunches green onions

1 large can whole tomatoes

2 cans of chicken broth (13 oz)

3 large bell peppers

salt and pepper to taste

Clean all the vegetables, slice, chop, and add in large pot. Add whole tomato, chicken broth and cook on low heat for 15 minutes or until tender.

Healthy

Cabbage is high in calcium, Vitamin C, Vitamin A, and much more. The raw juice is used for colon disorders and is quick acting. The cabbage soup diet is an old quick weight loss plan used to lose 10 pounds in a week. The soup is used as a filler and strict meal plans are provided for each day. Raw in salads, in juices or cooked in soups, cabbage is an important healthy food.

Cheap

There's a reason cabbage is a staple of peasant people in cool climates. Cabbage is easy to grow in cold climates, but not so easy in warm weather where pests attack. Because it's easy to grow and a high yielding crop, it's cheap. Peasant diets often are more nutritious than the processed diets of seemingly more affluent folks. So as you sit down to enjoy cabbage soup spiced just to suit your tastes, wonder what the rich folks are eating.

Many people who want to discover healthy and tasty foods that can help burn fat and lose weight hear familiar terms like "burn fat" and "eat healthy", but these vague terms are often followed by some type of diet that includes food that tastes like cardboard and restricted diets that do not encourage a person to stay on a diet.

"Healthy" diets that sell for big bucks are designed in a way that sets the average person up for failure. They do not take into account that the body requires certain amounts of vitamins, nutrients, and minerals to lose weight and some of those items are not found in the foods that don't contain sugar or calories. Most people who go on these diets will try very hard to reach their goal weight, but shortly after reaching their goal, they are off the wagon and eating again. The result is that about 90% of the people who start these diets fail and regain the weight they have lost.

It is very important that, before you start a diet, you learn about the vitamins, nutrients, and foods that will help your body to perform most efficiently and burn calories and fat. When you create a diet using the foods that are effective for you and you eat regularly, you will not be stuck with a bland tasteless diet. Your body will be getting what it needs to keep you healthy and give you the energy you need to burn the calories that you need to burn in order to lose the fat that you want to lose. Some foods are very good for helping you achieve your goals. By including these foods in your diet, you can avoid sugar cravings, get the nutrients you need, and enjoy a "healthy" diet more.

Raw nuts - Nuts are not bad for you, it's the stuff that is used to coat them like sugar and salt, that can counteract the good things that they do for you. Eating raw nuts provides you with important oil and vitamins that your body needs to function effectively. Yes, you need to monitor the amount of raw nuts that you eat each day. But, eating a handful of raw nuts each day will actually do your body more good than bad.

Fruits - There are some diets that advise people to stay away from fruits. But, eating raw fruit is like eating a vitamin. You are getting several vitamins including important vitamin C. Fruit gives you important fiber that you need and can help a person through a sugar craving very well. Eating berries is especially good for you and will give you a higher carbohydrate to sugar ratio than other fruits. When you are low on energy, fruit is a terrific way to regain energy easily.

Eggs - When you are looking at sources of protein, you will find that eggs are an extremely good source of protein. While egg whites can be avoided, egg yolks contain the protein, minerals, vitamins and nutrients that are critical for your body to function efficiently. Many people find that eating egg yolks without the whites in their meals does not change the taste of the food and is a great way to get the protein that is needed. In addition, eating a whole egg will make a person feel full longer than many foods and is a great addition to a salad when you are dieting.

Losing weight does not have to be hard. If your body is getting the minerals, vitamins and nutrients that are needed to stay balanced, and you are getting exercise on a regular basis, you are going to burn fat. Most people do not eat regularly or eat healthy. But, by just including some healthy foods in your diet and eating at regular intervals, you metabolism will work more efficiently.

The key to losing fat and weight is the metabolism. This is the part of your body that burns calories. When you are keeping your metabolism properly fueled and you are active, you are going to burn calories and fat. By eating properly, you are going to flush toxins from your body naturally and find that losing weight is very easy and natural. The first step will be to include the foods above into a regular healthy diet and find what foods fill you up, give you energy, and motivate you to eat more healthy foods.

In a fajita recipe you can conveniently take care of all these factors by experimenting with the varieties of meat, vegetables, and flour. Healthy Pasta Recipes - 3 Quick To Cook Tasty Meals With Asparagus, Clams, Green Beans & More

Posted by javanuddin

Is pasta good for you? There are two answers to this question "Yes" and "No.". Like with most foods pasta is no different. So long as the pasta is the best type, cooked right and that no bad foods are eaten with it, then yes it's good.

Things to watch that can ruin a good food being healthy for you.

If food is over cooked losing all its goodness then that food if you like becomes useless. Then there's the matter of pretty foods. Don't fall into the trap that just because something looks nice means it's good for you. Most fancy dressings and toppings are unhealthy and fattening, and something the dieter needs to avoid.

For those watching their weight, although the way a particular food is cooked plays a large role in keeping the goodness there, a lot depends on eating the right food for it to be classed as healthy and not fattening.

If you want to change your diet and eat more healthily, then bear in mind that no matter how much something is promoted as good for you, that is not a guarantee that it is. Too much of a good food can cause considerable harm especially when it's eaten with bad foods.

Pasta

If you ask someone where pasta comes from the likely response is Italy, while this is easily understood with the Italians eating a lot of it, however, according to Greek mythology it gives credit to the Greek God Vulcan for inventing a gadget that made the first spaghetti from strips of dough. But then other study traces pasta's roots back to the Etruscans in 400 BC, where the first Lasagna was thought to be made out of whole grain spelt flour.

Who cares where it came from, the important thing is we have it now, so let us get on and enjoy it.

Is Pasta Healthy Food?

The unhealthy side of pasta would include that it is made with white flour, and swimming in a thick creamy sauce. Whole grain al dente pasta with an unsweetened tomato sauce is by far the healthier option. Whole grain al dente pasta is fabulously high in fiber, vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids. It is gradually absorbed into the bloodstream and not listed to cause a blood sugar spike.

The benefits of the nutrition, gradual absorption and fiber content helps protect against insulin resistance, constipation, type 2 diabetes, heart disease and stroke.

Pasta is quick and simple to cook but has a lot of carbs, so keep portion size sensible and add more lean protein and vegetables to the dish.

Treat your body to the healthy benefits and try the quick to make tasty pasta meals below.

Healthy Eating With Tasty Foods and Still Lose Weight

It seems as if people do not eat healthy foods because they feel it will not taste as good as regular foods. However, if your health food doesn't taste good, you're eating the wrong health food. Just because something is good for you doesn't mean it has to taste bland. Nor does the food you consume have to be boring either. There are plenty of ideas out there for eating healthy without making sacrifices on taste Here are just a few of them.

New alternatives to eating healthy foods: While the health food market has changed in recent years, many new products and healthy alternatives are now available. Next time you're at a health food store, look around at all the different options. There are healthier versions of previously unhealthy foods. Try them; you might be pleasantly surprised with the taste.

Prepare your own food: While it is easy to buy frozen foods and use the microwave to fix dinner, the problem is that convenient isn't necessarily healthy, and the foods that are marketed as such usually do not taste so great. Preparing your own food allows you to not only eat healthier, but to maintain and control the flavor as well. If time is not on your side to prepare home cooked meals, you can use a Saturday to cook several meals for the following week. In this way, you will have an entire prepared; all you have to do is take it out the night before, place it in the refrigerator and prepare it when you get home. More importantly, you will have a meal deplete of blandness and questionable texture. Spice up your cooking: Good food doesn't have to be bland. Add different herbs and spices like Rachel Ray does with her meals. A great way to add taste without adding a lot of fat or calories is to add more spices. Check out the Food TV site and click on Rachel Ray's prepared meals. The spices she uses may be sitting in your cabinet. The meals she prepares are always changed by using a different array of spices. Give it a try!

Fruit can be just as sweet: Fruit is a great way to get your fix without binging on candy and chocolate. Instead of your normal afternoon snack, try an apple or fruit of your choice which you can easily toss in your purse. At dinner, add fruit as a dessert, side dish, or even put some into the main course. Fruit gives you lots of vitamins and minerals and it satisfies your need for sweets. Another great idea is to juice various vegetables and then add fruit to flavor. You'll be getting the added benefit of vegetables with the taste of fruit juice. It's quite delicious!

Dieting and foods are not synonymous with bad tastes. You can prepare food which is not only good and tastes great, but with a little ingenuity and a few recipes; you can enrich your diet regimen and ultimately lose weight at the same time.

Tasty, Healthy Food - Fact Or Fiction

Posted by javanuddin

Hello. My name is Cristian and today I'm going to talk to you about the importance of a healthy approach to life and how to do it in a easy and tasty manner.

All in all, diets are now regarded as a way of depriving yourself of certain spoils, taking away some fun from your life and entering in a period of utter pain. Well this isn't necessarily true. On a level this is fully true, but those are diets imposed by your doctor because of various medical reasons.

There is a dark secret that we fail to acknowledge, diets can be tasty and can be a way of life if you choose it right. For the sake of this reading let's define diets as a way of keeping a good general health, a way of eating whatever it is you want and a way to improve your lifestyle and ultimately your overall state of mind.

Here are a few simple rules:

1. First and foremost, moderation and self discipline are key to anything in life. Whether you're ready to accept this or not, you have to. It is the only way you will have a good, happy, and healthy life.

2. Don't go cold turkey on everything. What i am about to propose to you is a way in which all you have to do is carefully plan your meals. So basically eating what you like and when you like.

3. Eat fresh fruits or in this case fresh home-made fruit products like natural juices, tea, preserves, jam, etc.

Follow these few simple rules and you'll be set for life! Now, onto the main course. The diet i keep telling you about is a fruit based diet. It is actually more of a way of life rather then a diet. Fruits are important to us. They're also astonishing in ways that we don't actually think of at first. They're easy to eat and/or cook, they're healthy for us in almost any way, and more importantly they will provide you with 70% of your daily dosage of nutrients and minerals (in some cases even more then that).

So remember, eat fruits, fresh fruits, and you'll be able to not say no to your favorite foods as well as stay healthy.

Tasty food, healthy food? FACT!

Some of the biggest excuses I hear about healthy eating, be it for health reasons, or to lose weight or gain muscle are - "healthy food doesn't taste good," (which is a serious problem because if your food doesn't taste good, it's very unlikely you'll stick to the plan) "it takes too long to prepare healthy food", and, "it's too complicated." These excuses are usually the result of thinking you need to slave over a hot stove preparing 6 course meals all day long. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Excuse #1 Healthy food is bland food

First off, the reality is that healthy foods aren't the one to blame; it's the cook who's at fault. Healthy foods don't have to be boring, or taste bad. Foods like rice cakes taste like cardboard because that's what rice cakes taste like, not because all healthy foods do

The belief that healthy food doesn't taste good will slow down your progress. Healthy food is like high performance race fuel for your body, while junk food laden with salt, sugar, fats, preservatives and the like are nothing more than camouflaged candy. You can say healthy food helps you perform like an Indy car, or a jet fighter, and junk food gives you the performance of a garbage truck! If you insist on eating junk and avoiding healthy food because "it taste's bad," don't expect to win any races or competitions anytime soon.

Another point to keep in mind is the following, expensive restaurants don't serve Big Macs - notice I didn't say burgers. They have burgers alright; one's made with top quality beef, nutritious bread and piles of veggies.

A tasty menu will actually make you look forward to your meals, and that's critical.

You might be able to eat a bad meal every now or then and brush it off, but do you think you could do that every day? How about 4, 5, 6 even 7 times a day? Probably not unless you were in a POW camp and didn't have a choice.

Simply put, tastier food makes it easier to stick to your nutritional plan. Stick to your nutritional plan long enough and it'll become a lifestyle. By making it a lifestyle you'll reap the benefits from eating healthy only gained from "sticking to the plan" for the long haul. Sticking to a healthy lifestyle for the long haul means your results will stick with YOU for the long haul - and I'd bet it's safe to say that's what you want.

Kirsten Hawkins, nutrition and health expert writes: "One of the biggest reasons that people slip off their diets and eating plans is BOREDOM. It's very easy to look at the foods allowed on your diet and see it as restrictive and boring. Chicken four nights a week. Fish three times a week. Green leafy vegetables till they're coming out of your ears. Who wouldn't get bored? The answer is - anyone with a good set of cookbooks and a healthy imagination. Perk up your cabinet with spices and fill your refrigerator with fresh fruits and vegetables, then look for novel ways to combine them."

Excuse #2 I don't have the time to prepare healthy food

You may be saying to yourself "that's great but I don't have the time to cook." The truth is neither do I, at least not 5 or 6 times a day. However, I do have time to cook once a day and will usually prepare multiple meals at a time.

Once you realize that most healthy foods don't take much longer than unhealthy foods you'll find you'll have time for it too.

Most times it's just as fast and even quicker. Usually you can take the same recipes and replace the ingredients with healthier choices. For example, swap medium ground beef for extra lean, butter with olive oil, brown rice for white, and presto, you have a healthy meal. It also helps to experiment with different types of foods and try things you are unfamiliar with.

Excuse #3 Too complicated

It's also not that complicated. You don't need to spend hours seasoning and boiling down dishes. The great thing is that healthy meals tend to be simple dishes that use easy to learn cooking methods.

Toni Tanner Scott, Personal Chef and Cooking Coach, writes, "To support your healthy eating plan, stock your pantry wisely, focusing on the kinds of cuisine you and your family prefer. Start with the basics: good olive oil, reduced fat/sodium broth, brown rice, whole wheat pasta, dry beans and lentils. Then if you particularly enjoy Tex-Mex, add good chili powder, cumin, and oregano and tomato paste. If Asian fare is always favorite, keep low sodium soy sauce, ginger and sesame oil on hand, along with longer grain rice... you'll always be able to whip up a fabulous meal with some fresh lean meat and vegetables."

All of this healthy good eating will cause you to feel and look better, which will make you want to stick to the plan even more. Also, consistently eating healthy and balanced meals that meet your caloric requirement will provide you the fuel you need to push yourself to higher levels and maximize the returns from each workout. You will also recuperate better and quicker from your workouts which means you'll be in the gym sooner and reaching your goals faster.

If you're serious about your health, your looks, your mental wellbeing, making the most out of the time you spend in the gym and actualizing your true potential, fueling your body is a top priority.

And it all starts with a tasty menu based on a rock solid nutrition plan and a proven system that will get you there.

Eating Time!

Learn the basics of cooking.

You really don't need more than the basics, and they are very quick and easy to pick up.

Use the best ingredients you can get

Use fresh ingredients when you cook it'll make your foods taste much better. Even the best chef in the world would be hard pressed to make a tasty meal with old, wilted and stale ingredients.

Stay away from wilted fruits and veggies, and make sure the colors are bright and/or clear.

While fresh organic whole foods are my first choice, using pre cut or pre mixed fruits and veggies, like a salad mix, is OK when you're short on time.

As a rule of thumb, don't use anything that has a strong odor or has a cloudy color.

Fresh fish doesn't have a strong "fishy smell". If it does, it's more than likely going, if not already, bad. Same goes for other meats, stay away from strong odors.

Leftovers with a purpose

Cooking in bulk, i.e. making leftovers on purpose is a great way to keep the fridge or freezer stocked with ready to eat foods and meals.

Posted by javanuddin on Friday, July 20, 2012

Are you always on-the-go and have little time to eat? Do you spend a lot of time at the gym and often need an instant energy boost? Or are you currently on a diet and looking for a snack that wont spoil your weight loss plans?

The food bar was created to satisfy the need for a quick, convenient, delicious and filling snack, and is usually marketed as a meal replacement bar or a protein bar. Food bars provide people with an active and busy lifestyle and those just looking for a snack an instant source of nourishment.

Many people turn to chocolate bars when they need a quick bite. Its hard to find something that can beat the satisfaction of sinking your teeth on good ol chocolate. But chocolate nutrition has always been a source of controversy.

Chocolate is derived from the fruit of the cacao tree. A single spoon of raw cocoa powder contains more than 25,000 beneficial antioxidants, as well as other nutrients. However, processing strips chocolate of most of its potency and as a result, most chocolate products do not deliver the potential health benefits.

What Makes a Healthy Natural Energy Bar?

Many food bars in the market are chocolate-based, therefore, if youre looking for a food bar thats truly healthy and nutritious, choose one that uses a high-quality chocolate cocoa. Organic dark chocolate will be your best bet because its the chocolate closest to its original raw state. Avoid milk chocolate because milk and milk byproducts cancel out the antioxidants.

Here are other important things to consider when looking for a food bar:

Sugar content The lower the sugar content, the better. Avoid bars containing high fructose corn syrup and artificial sweeteners like aspartame and sucralose. Organic raw agave syrup or nectar is one of the more acceptable sweeteners.

Contains smart fats like omega-3 and other essential fats Avoid bars containing dangerous trans fats

Quality protein source Avoid unhealthy soy proteins

No allergens, artificial additives, colorings, flavors (MSG), preservatives or stabilizers

Contains fiber to enhance your digestion

If possible, look for a bar using natural organic ingredients. When it comes to nutrition and safety, organic produce is superior to conventional produce. You cant go wrong with a natural energy bar containing healthy all-organic ingredients.
