Healthy Fruit Juice

Posted by javanuddin on Friday, March 9, 2012

Fresh fruit juice is absolutely delicious. Most people, including myself, like fruit juice because it is sweet tasting and highly flavourful.

Fruit juices, and fruits in general, are often referred to as the cleansers of the body. Fruits are referred to as cleansers because their natural acidity helps the body clean itself of unwanted bacteria.

In many cultures you will actually see many people drinking water with some lemon juice added to it. Over the years, these cultures have instinctively realized the benefits of even the slightest amount of fruit juice.

If you are looking for some great healthy fruit juice ideas and recopies, then look no further then the vitamix blender. Using your vitamix blender can be a great addition to your kitchen allowing you a great tool to make healthy fruit juice.

The first thing that is important in creating healthy fruit juice is making sure that you use the whole fruit to juice with. Being able to consume the whole fruit fibre, juice and all is really important in trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

I usually like to add a variety of colour of fruits to my blender when making healthy fruit juice because this way I am making sure I am getting a variety of anti-oxidants and nutrients to my diet.

When making healthy fruit juices, I always encourage people to use dark leafy green vegetables like Swiss chard or kale to the juice as well. If you want a more fruiter juice then just add more fruit in proportion to the amount of vegetables that you use.

A typical juice that I make in the morning with my vitamix blender as a few leaves of Swiss chard or kale, and apple and a banana and usually a couple of handfuls of fresh berries or frozen berries. I will also add a vegan protein power with some hemp seed, ground flax and any other dissolvable nutrient that you would like to add such as vitamin C etc.

You have a choice as to how thick you would like your juice as if you remember from above making sure we consume the fibre part is really important. If you like a thick juice don't use as much water or add more water if you like it more thinly.

Healthy fruit juice is a real vital component to a healthy diet. In North America we are challenged everyday to get enough nutrients, and concentrated fruits and vegetables in a natural whole food juice is a great way to keep the body balance and healthy.

There really is no right or wrong way to make a healthy fruit juice. All you need to be is open to the possibility of experimenting. Every individual has there own preference or favourite vegetable and fruit so start with that first.

I love combining banana's and dark berries. They give such a great unique taste and I always feel full afterwards.

The great thing with the vitamix blender is that it is easy to clean and the juicing is fast so it is a wonderful way to experiment to find your favourite combinations of fruit and vegetables and a quick natural breakfast.

When it comes to choosing a healthy diet for your body, many people don't realize the important role that beverages play. For example, fruit flavoured drinks and soft drinks are not a substitute for real fruit. Many of these drinks only contain 10% real fruit juice. The very best drinks are made from whole fruit and you can make great fruity healthy drinks at home.

The more whole fruits and vegetables that you eat the healthier you will become. Having a healthy fruit juice everyday is a great easy way to make sure that happens.

Healthy Fruit Juice Checklist - How to Choose a Bottled Fruit Juice

Posted by javanuddin on Tuesday, March 6, 2012

Not every bottled, canned, or boxed fruit beverage is a healthy fruit juice. Here is a checklist for evaluating juices to get the most health for your money.

Look for the words "100% fruit juice" on the label. This exact wording means that the beverage contains only fruit juice, flavors, and additives. Other wordings without the term "100%," such as "orange juice drink" or "fruit juice cocktail," mean that as little as 1% of the beverage might be fruit juice: the rest will typically be corn syrup.

Avoid flavors and additives as much as possible. Read the ingredients list in the fine print to see the number and names of additives.

"Pulp" or "puree" in the ingredients list indicates extra fiber, taste, and nutrition from the crushed flesh of the fruit.

On the label, look for the words "not from concentrate." This means that the juice was bottled when it was pressed. In contrast, "from concentrate" means that the juice was first dehydrated and then later reconstituted by mixing with water. The additional processing of making the concentrate harms the quality of the juice.

Look for the words "USDA organic" for the extra taste and nutrition of organic fruit. Organic fruit is grown without synthetic pesticides, which can concentrate in the juice. "100% organic" indicates entirely organic ingredients; "organic" indicates 95% organic ingredients. "Made with organic ingredients" means that only some of the ingredients are organic. The word "natural" means nothing at all!

Make sure that you get the fruit that you think you are buying. The ingredients are listed in the order of volume: the largest ingredient first and the smallest last.

Look for juice made from high-antioxidant fruits. Antioxidants are healthful nutrients that help maintain the body against the ravages of age, metabolism, and toxins. Fortunately, some antioxidants in fruits survive the bottling process! High-antioxidant fruit juices include bilberry, blueberry, cherry, concord grape, cranberry, and pomegranate.

Low-quality juices and corn syrup waste your money; whereas the highest quality juices enhance your health. This checklist will help you get the most from your juice purchases.

What Makes a Truly Healthy Natural Fruit Juice

Discover Super Premium Fruit Juice

In recent times Fruit Juice has been given a bad wrap, with many nutritionists stating that it is low in fibre when compared to eating whole pieces of fruit. But now there's a new Juice category - Super Premium Fruit Juice - and it is growing at a very fast pace.

What is 'super premium' fruit juice

Super premium fruit juice aims to get juice in its most healthy, natural form from the grower to to the consumer. Super premium juice is made up of the whole fruit skin and all, and is more like a juice smoothie. Whole fruit means plenty of fibre and far more vitamins and minerals in your diet. Whole fruit such as mangos, plums, peaches and berries are crushed rather than juiced so all of the fleshy goodness goes into the bottle.

Juice that is heat-treated in the same way as Milk

What makes it super premium is that it is pasteurised (heated) in a way that is similar to milk, that is very quickly and at a high temperature. This form of pasteurisation keeps it as close to its natural state as possible and sustains far more of the fruits' goodness for consumption. The proof that it is truly a super premium juice is that it has a shelf life also similar to milk. Immediately after pasteurisation the juice is cold filtered to 4°C and then must be transported and stored at that temperature to give it a shelf life of around 30 days.

The squeeze on normal fruit juice

Most fruit juice contains only the juice from the fruit, not the flesh. The flesh of the fruit is where most of the goodness is. Most juice is also pasteurised (heated) for a long period of time to give it a longer shelf life. This process also diminishes the nutritional value of the juice, as many nutrients are lost in the heating process. A lot of bottled juice is also made from concentrate where most of the nutrition has been boiled out.

Other that being very healthy for you, these premium juices taste amazing! This must be due to the fact that you are tasting the whole fruit with far less damage to it through pasteurisation. I have tried a range of this type of juice and it is markedly noticeable how much more distinct the flavours are, I think it's the best fruit juice I've ever tasted.

This is an exciting growth category, and it will be interesting to see what wonderful flavours enter the market.

Is Fruit Juice Healthy?

Posted by javanuddin

All the advertisements on TV rave about how healthy orange juice and other juices are for us. We have been blasted by these commercials for years and most of us strongly believe this to be true.

Fruit juice may have up to 8 teaspoons of natural sugar in an eight ounce glass. This is not added sugar but the natural fructose. What may not be natural is squeezing juices. Fruits are meant to be eating whole in their natural state.

Fruit juices have many healthy nutrients and vitamins that are beneficial. Are these benefits being surpassed by the quantities of sugar in them?

Sweet drinks are linked to preschool obesity whether they are Kool-Aid or natural juices. Preschoolers are better off snacking on whole fruit.

One Head Start program banned juice as an anti-obesity effort after finding one out of five students was obese.

The American Academy of Pediatrics states that toddlers and preschool aged children should be limited to just 4-6 ounces of fruit juice per day. The APP states that fruit juice offers no nutritional benefits over whole fruit.

If you consume fruits whole in their natural state you consume them with the natural fiber and other ingredients that checks sugar absorption.

It is important for you to restrict your intake of fruit juices especially if you have any of the following problems.

High Blood Pressure
Overweight
Diabetes

Whole fruits are healthy but you may still want to eat them in moderation if you have any of the above issues. Whole fruits are more desirable then juices in any case.

Some of the healthiest fruits are berries specifically blueberries as their sugar levels are lower than most fruits and they contain an abundance of antioxidants.

So remember juices are high in calories and low in fiber. This will leave you hungry while rapidly adding excess sugar unnecessary. Sometimes just eliminating sugar water, pop, and juices will bring fantastic results.

If you want to try juicing stick with vegetables as they are lower in sugars than fruits.

Most of us have grown up thinking that fruit juice is one of the healthiest things for us. We may need to reconsider this. And then there are fruit drinks which aren't even 100% fruit juice. Just keep in mind that many commodities being sold are produced to make capital not to enhance your health.

You want to make intelligent informative decisions. Do research whenever you can. You can certainly track down a lot of relevant information on search engines but you will have to decide how correct this advice is.

Instead of grabbing calories in a bottle consider a fresh piece of delicious fruit. Blueberries are one of the top quality fruits containing plenty of antioxidants while maintaining lower sugar content then most other fruits. I find that nature knows best when it comes to nutrition. I still have not found that tree with quarts of OJ hanging from it.

Drinking Fruit Juice: A Healthy Habit

Posted by javanuddin on Friday, March 2, 2012

The fact cannot be denied that fresh fruit juice is really delicious. In fact, a lot of people love to drink fresh fruit juices not only because of its taste, but also because of the nutritional benefits it brings to the human body. Fruit juices in general are known to be effective in naturally cleaning the body. It basically helps in the rejuvenation process thus, resulting in a healthier body and mind. Fruits are also referred to as cleansers because of their natural acidity that effectively helps the body from cleaning itself from any unwanted bacteria and impurities that are brought by the environment.

A lot of cultures often include people who love drinking water with some fruit juice like lemon added to it. And over the years these people also realized that fruits juices have great benefits for the body even when taking the slightest amount of it. Because of all these reasons, it is therefore, advisable to make drinking a glass of fresh juice a regular part of an individual's diet.

The first thing that needs to be considered in making a healthy fruit juice is to make sure to juice whole fruit to juice with. This is very important to make sure that all the nutrients and minerals found in the fruit are well consumed. Making a fresh fruit juice is not really limited to a certain fruit. In fact, several fruits can be placed in a juice maker and be mixed afterward. These juice makers or fruits juicers often help make the task of juicing fruits easier. So for those people who do not have a juicer yet, it would be a wise decision to buy one especially if it will be used more often.

Selecting the best juicer in the market is an easy task as long as the person buying it knows what he or she should look for in a juicer. Once a juicer has already been selected, it only means that fresh fruit juices can now be enjoyed anytime of the day. What if you cannot afford a top quality machine? Don't be too concerned. More expensive juicer and blender machines are often faster and prettier, but even cheaper models still work OK. Depending on your personal preference you may also want to consider buying a second hand machine on an auction site such as e-bay. This can be a great way to save a lot of money.

Remember that juicing vegetables is no different to juicing fruit really, the only consideration to make is whether your juicer is powerful enough to handle large chunks of hard veggies like carrot. Certain vegetables actually have powerful healing properties, for example you may try looking at how to make cabbage juice or celery juice.
